"By the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.” Catechism #1285
The effects of Confirmation enables us to be more united to Jesus Christ, increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit within us, and deepens our involvement in the Catholic Church.
Confirmation in the Diocese of Nashville is in Eigth grade. Teens in 8th grade are prepared for confirmation through our Faith Formation K-12 program. This is a two year program. Teens should begin their preparation in Seventh Grade. Sacramental preparation classes are available for children who are in High School. A retreat is held in the spring of their confirmation year in preparation for the sacrament.
Adults who have not been confirmed may inquire about the process to be received in the Catholic Church through OCIA, Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.
